As part of our comitment to our staff we engage the services of Latus Group who schedule an occupational health physician to visit to our site and deliver assessments based on our needs as a fabrication business.
Audiometry (workplace Hearing) Testing
Our regular workplace audiometery (hearing) test is an essential part of protecting our employees from noise-induced hearing loss, one of the most common and preventable occupational health issues in the UK workplace, to be able to record and evalute means we can spot any issues early on and it also helps us to meet our legal responsabilities under the control of noise at work regulations 2005.
Spirometry (Lung Function) Testing
Despite having workshop extractions and air fed masks we still recognise the importance of regular Lung Function tests as the breathing in of certain dusts, gases, fumes and vapours in the workplace can cause serious long-term lung issues and a test like this although not a preventitive measure it will highlight any deteriation and issues giving the opportunity for early medical intervention should there be issues.
Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS)
We use handtools at Atom Fabs and we recognise the harm vibration can cause and its lasting effects on hand function, circulation and overall wellbeing. We select our hand tools with Hilti Active vibration reduction and limit the exposure to personel but again having regular assesments to support early detection is a clear benefit to the indivdual should there be a problem.
Follow the visit our HR department will receive a secure file with the results and any referal letters if the individual needs a further investigation, helping to keep our staff healthy and ensuring our compliance with the workplace regulations.
